My pool has been closed for about a month now. This is my first year so I had the local pool company do the closing. I brought the FC level up a little bit but not too high. On closing day, they blew out the lines, plugged the returns, put a gizzmo in the skimmer, and dumped in a bottle of algaecide. They said for my kind of pool to not lower the water level at all. Then we covered the pool with a tarp, no donut. (A safety cover will have to wait for next year.)
