We have well water, and hence it's very hard. I'm able to fill our spa from our softened water, which is what I've done the past couple of times. Even then, we still have an iron issue that I plan on addressing. From my understanding, too low of Hardness can cause foaming and damage to the pump, heater and metal parts.
